On the curveness of magnets

To better illustrate the problem of using flat magnets in a radial design, here’s a couple of pictures.

One: a big single magnet with 40mm width.

Two: a set of 4 smaller magnets with 10mm width.

Clearly the mechanical adjustment is better with multiple magnets per pole.  It is easier to glue, and the resulting air gaps are a lot smaller.
